S.D.G. Eastlondon, Stefania Di Ghionno Italian expat in London

In this post I am going to talk about a new brand, born just one year ago, son of an italian expat in London.

the brand is named S.D.G. EastLondon, the designer is Stefania, and her most impressive aspects are the energy, being down to earth together with creativity.

She says: I tanks Italy that didn't gave me a work, because I took the chance to leave the country to find it abroad. I see my friends who are in Italy, frustrated by their work, with low wages and no satisfaction
This is the sad destiny of young and not only young people living in Italy. But she didn't give up, she packed her suitcases and she stood every day in front of Spitafield doors, where in the beginning they didn't wanted to let her expose her creation. But in the end she did it, passing through a lot of market from Camden, to Notting Hill, then Brick Lane, Upmarket and finally Spitafield. And now she has her own collection and she opened her online store.
In Italy this won't have happened easily, there are not so many market here, where you can find young designer exposing the product of their creativity  as in London, so usually market aren't a good place to expose new collection, if they haven't got money enough to open a shop by themselves.
But let’s go back to Stefania’s story, that after exposing her stuffs in a lot Londoner’s market finally opened her own online store.
What she does is to customize t-shirt, she buys white tee’s and she cut/print/dye them, to get them transformed in her own ideas.
Right now she is working on a new project that she didin’t want to reveal, but I’m looking forward to here her news.

MENSWEAR FALL 2020 THE GENDER FLUID ERA Valentino Fall 2020 These days clothing for men and women is being dissolved into a median category, we are evolving to a new way of getting dressed, I really love the idea and truth to be told this in not a brand new subject, let's think about David Bowie, doing this approximately  50 years ago. So it's time to change our point of view, what I really dislike is the way someone does it. Gucci loves to mix, my point is that if you make people looks really bad, most of the people will not understand what is really important to say, that we need no longer barriers between men and women, but they will point how bad they look. To me Valentino does it in a different way, and to me this is the right way, if a joung boy need  an image in which to recognize himself, maybe this can be an easier path to follow to get dressed for everyday life.  Gucci Fall 2020 Valentino Fall 2020 Gucci Fall 2020

Gemma Ward

She is...hard to define her beauty, she is stunning but not in the classic way, I have to admit I almost forgot her, she quit modeling, after Heath Ledger death, I didn't even know they where toghether.  I've found one of her pictures in my "archives"...actually I've never thought about it, but she looks lihe Nadia Auerman daughter and Sasha Pivovarova's sister... She was one of my favourite, her face is sweet but so modern, someone says she is an alien. I'm sorry she disappeared. I hope she will come back sooner or later.

Chanel limited edition
